How do you define masculine and feminine energy? Is your ideology regarding masculinity and femininity outdated?

But wait, if I am a female, that means, I have feminine energy. And, if I am a male, that means I have masculine energy. Right?

Nope…

In biological terms, its true that we all have our own gender. But, in the world of energy and spirituality, its a bit different. No matter, what your gender is, you have both these energies within yourself.

You might have seen a male with more feminine energy and a female with more masculine energy.

But often times, most of the people have these energies imbalanced. Sometimes, one of the energy also gets dull. And other times, one gets overly activated. This happens due to several reasons with social conditioning being one of the main reason.

In order to live a great, balanced and abundant life, it’s important that you have both these energies properly awakened and balanced within yourself. Both these energies are equally important in your life. So, while reading the post, please read it from the perspective of “energy” and not “gender”.

Let’s look more about what do these energies mean, how do they impact your life and how you can balance them.

What Is Masculine Energy?

The Masculine Energy indicate qualities such as action, dominance, confidence, etc. The masculine energy thinks in terms of logic and it likes to create patterns, structure, rules, goals, etc where logic can be used in order to achieve or complete something. This energy is very predictable, analytical and can be decoded by logic.

The masculine energy is direct, straight-forward, to the point. Clarity and focus are its natural gifts. The masculine energy doesn’t have any kind of confusion and second thoughts when it comes to achieve what it wants. This energy is the master of planning and lays out structure and guidelines with logic and experience.

The main purpose of the masculine energy is protection and freedom. Thus, it can sense danger from afar and makes sure to protect the individual and the loved ones. Similarly, this energy fights for what it loves and find ways to achieve the goals.

As clarity and focus are its natural gifts, the masculine energy is brutally honest. It always stands up for the right thing, no matter what the situation is. It doesn’t like to settle for less and always strive to get something more.

As it is straight to the point, the masculine energy doesn’t think before saying the right thing. It doesn’t care what others might think, it doesn’t even care about the situation. It will always stand for righteousness even if it means a hardship for the individual. Thus, he doesn’t care about doing or saying something right; so if a person doesn’t like it, he may leave.

Also, the masculine energy thinks in terms of linear mode. It knows that in order to achieve Z, it need to first go from X to Y. It creates planning, logic, structure to achieve something. It is also able to change the planning in between according to the situation.

The feminine energy falls more on the spiritual side. While masculine energy continues to experience, live and work in the materialistic life, the feminine energy acts a guide in the spiritual world. I will explain what I mean by this, a bit later. But let’s first understand what is feminine energy generally.

The Feminine energy is emotional, intuitive, creative and imaginary. This energy is unpredictable and cannot be always explained by the rational or logical mind. This energy is beyond logic and it sees possibilities that a structured masculine energy cannot see.

The core purpose of feminine energy is love. This energy always follow the voice of the heart (intuition) and is unrestricted by the social norms.

As love, intuition and creation are its natural gifts, the feminine energy doesn’t need to plan, or to take steps to achieve the goals. Instead, this energy attracts. It will embody the frequency of what it wishes to experience and will attract that situation, experience, etc. into the real life.

For feminine energy, in order to achieve Z, it doesn’t need a plan to go from X to Y. In fact, this energy is about creating or achieving something, which was not even on the map, which seemed impossible or which would have never happened before. This energy is magical and creates, attracts miracles in life.

Also, the feminine energy percieves time differently. Unlike structured masculine energy, this energy experiences time in circular motion rather than linear. Meaning that, everything is interconnected and runs in it’s own circular patterns.

When you wake up in the morning, you imagine and visualize your day, goals, routine, etc. After that, you take action on these visions to accomplish those in the real life. Here the feminine energy is acting as a guide in the form of vision and emotions and masculine energy is taking action to complete that.

Which Energy Is Better?

For centuries, we have been told that the masculine energy is superior than the feminine energy. In various subliminal ways, the society has told us that emotions, love, care, intuition, creativity has not that much value. And, we should always be logical, analytical, structured, etc.

But, think it for yourself. Do you think this is true?

Tell me one thing, you study, work, go to college, run a business and you do this everyday. But, for what purpose, you are doing this? What will you get in the end? Is it only about survival? Of course, No!

Internally, you know that you are doing this only to be happy and to be feel loved in the end. Then why, one energy should be superior than the other? Why should you even compare?

For example, let’s say, you wake up in the morning and started visualizing about your day, goals, routine, life, etc. Here, our feminine energy did this.

After that, you started taking actions, you started to work on them to accomplish them in the real life. Here, your masculine energy did this.

Lets say, if you are constantly visualizing, imagining, but not taking any actions regarding those, that means your feminine energy is more active and the masculine energy is dull. You are going no where in life.

On the other hand, if you are constantly taking actions, working endless hours, but you are not sure where you are going in life, you don’t have any kind of visions, you don’t feel love or happiness, you struggle to receive your inner guidance, you struggle to accept things, etc. In this case, your masculine energy is more active and feminine energy is dull. In this case too, you are going no where in life.

So, I hope you may have understood that both these energies are unique in their own aspects and are equally important to life a great life. They should not be compared to each other.

Now, I will teach you 3 Easy Ways to awaken and balance your masculine and feminine energies.

So, we will do this with 3 simple pranayam. Pranayam are simple breathing exercises, which help you activate and balance yourself on the energy level. I won’t go in super details explaining this as it can be really time consuming.

But for now, just keep in mind, that we have 3 Nadis in our body. In short, Nadis are energy channels and transmitters in our body, through which the Prana (life force, energies, consciousness flows). The 3 Nadis are:

  • Ida Nadi: Left side of the body, represents moon principle, feminine energy, left nostril
  • Pingla Nadi: Right side of the body , symbolizes sun principle, masculine energy, right nostril
  • Shushumna Nadi: Central channel of the spinal cord, represents the consciousness, maintains balance between both the energies

Chandra Bhedi Pranayam (For Awakening The Feminine/Moon Energy Within)

Also, as already mentioned, your left side of the body represents the Ida Nadi, the moon principle, the feminine energy and we will first activate this energy by working with Ida Nadi first with our left nostril, where cool air passes.
